Veliye Yanlı is a professor of commercial law at Istanbul Bilgi University Law Faculty.

She graduated from Istanbul University Law Faculty with highest score of “very good”. She earned her PhD degree from Munich Ludwig Maximilian University in Germany. Between 1992 and 2005, she lectured on commercial law, labor law and capital markets law lectures at Istanbul Technical University, Business Administration Faculty. She assumed the title “Associate Professor” in 1998 and “Professor” in 2005. In 2015, Prof. Yanlı spent one year as a visiting scholar at the Columbia University in New York, USA.

Prof. Yanlı, who served as a member of the preparatory commission for the new Turkish Commercial Code, which has been in force since 2012, has been teaching commercial law, corporate law and capital markets law at Istanbul Bilgi University since 2005. She has authored books and articles in these areas. Proficient in both German and English, she is fluent in both languages.
